Rapist had 27,000 child sex images

Police recovered the images from Mark Hutchinson-Schofield's computer at his home in Little London, Leeds, after receiving intelligence in 2008 that he was downloading images of children being abused.

Peter Moulson prosecuting told Leeds Crown Court that the movies and photos included 286 at level five, the most serious.

In 1989 Hutchinson-Schofield was jailed for 14 years after he bound and gagged a 16-year-old girl before raping her. He also robbed her mother after holding her at knifepoint.

Hutchinson-Schofield, 43, admitted 21 offences of making indecent photographs.

David Orbaum, for Hutchinson-Schofield, said the serious conviction was 21 years ago and had no bearing on the current proceedings.
