Rapper Stormzy stars in Vogue photo shoot on Leeds street

Grime star Stormzy has appeared in photos taken on a street of terraced houses in Leeds as part of a shoot for fashion magazine Vogue.

The London-based rapper, 24, and his girlfriend Maya Jama are interviewed in the February edition of Vogue.

The accompanying photo shows the couple posing on a street of red-brick terraced houses - and the location has been identified as Marley Grove in Beeston.

Maya Tweeted her fans to confirm that the Vogue creative team chose the spot when the pair were in Leeds for the MOBO Awards back in November, as it was the only time they were free to take part in the shoot.

Residents of Marley Grove - which sits in an elevated position overlooking Leeds United's Elland Road stadium - were asked to move their cars so that the images by photographer Anton Corbijn could be captured.

The Yorkshire Evening Post does not have copyright on the Vogue image, but the article can be viewed here.

It's not the first time a superstar rapper has appeared unexpectedly in Leeds - back in August, residents of the small village of East Keswick, near Wetherby, were stunned to spot Eminem and several members of his entourage taking a stroll on a country lane before his appearance at Leeds Festival.
