Record-breaking footballers wanted
The team of friends and colleagues from Sheffield will attempt to play continuously for 30 hours, at Concord Sports Centre on Saturday, May 22.
Organisers hope the event will raise 30,000 for Sport Relief. However, the group still needs two more players, so has organised a recruitment drive at Hillsborough on Saturday, February 27, where members of the public are invited to try out for a place on the squad. Players must donate 5 to apply, with all money going to Sport Relief.

Hide AdJames Coupe, 28, from Woodseats, thought up the challenge. He said: “These auditions have gained the nickname ‘Attrition’ as they are going to be an absolute test of will and fitness.
“We welcome anyone and everyone to try out for one of a selected number of places to play.”
To beat the record, two teams of five, each with three substitutes, must play continuously. For every hour played, a five minute break is allowed, which can be accumulated to provide a 20 minute break every four hours. See www.sheffieldfiveaside.co.uk.
