Record field for ‘Sport of Kings’ contest

White Rose Polo Club, near North Cliffe, will host the Yorkshire Open Polo Championships.

Now in its fifth year, the tournament comprises three levels of play - designed to allow players of all abilities to take part.

Polo Manager and Coach Tony Wesche said the presence of so many teams showed Yorkshire was a thriving location for the sport: “We have a diverse range of players and teams from a variety of backgrounds, reflecting the fact that polo is no longer just the ‘Sport of Kings’ but a game that can be enjoyed by everybody.” Gates open at 10.30am.
