Recovered treasure goes on show

Andy Johanessen displays a lead-alloy toy coach he found on the foreshore in the City of London, which was among treasure finds put on display at the British Museum yesterday for the launch of the Treasure Annual Report.

The finds on show included a hoard of more than 50,000 rare Roman coins, believed to have been buried in around 394 AD.

Metal-detector user Dave Crisp found them in Frome, Somerset, in April this year.

The coins are the largest Roman hoard found in a single container.
