Recovery hopes as costly power tools stolen

A batch of expensive power tools stolen from an outbuilding in North Yorkshire were branded with the owner’s postcode.

However, police believe the markings will help them track down the tools and have praised the move.

PC Nick Hill, from North Yorkshire Police, said: “The tools are easily identifiable as the owner has marked them with a postcode and name, as well as making a note of the make model and serial number.

“This will be of great help when the items are recovered.”

The tools – a chainsaw, power saw and strimmer worth £2,250 – were stolen between September 21 and October 7 in Great Ayton.
