Recruitment drive for eco-volunteers

A RECRUITMENT campaign has been launched in North Yorkshire to sign up new eco-volunteers to encourage more householders to go green.

The North and North Yorkshire Waste Partnership has started the campaign to train up volunteers to help spread its environmental message across the county.

The eco-volunteers are expected to promote simple ways to reduce waste through a range of activities, such as helping people in their neighbourhoods, giving demonstrations to schools, promoting waste reduction at local shows and fairs and hosting drop-in composting surgeries.
