Region fears it has worst roads in the country

People in Yorkshire fear they have the worst-kept roads in the country, a survey revealed. Badly-kept local roads are costing the economy £4.1bn a year, with a £9.5bn backlog in fixing potholes.

Sixty per cent of people asked believe that highways in the region are poorly maintained – the nation’s highest figure.
