Last year the conference, organised by Welcome to Yorkshire, the region's tourist agency, unveiled a new ambitious campaign to attract people to spend a weekend in the region with the slogans "We'll show you Y" and "This is Y".

This year the 1,500 delegates will see the new trains which are the result of a partnership between Welcome to Yorkshire and Northern Rail as well as hearing a host of other announcements.

The 10 trains will travel within and out of the region – including Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria.

It is expected this year's event will build on work done last year, when a strategy was funded with 30m from the development agency Yorkshire Forward.

One of the major elements of last year's work was to promote the county as a tourism destination for visitors from countries across Europe and also in the USA, Canada and Australia.
