Rent-a-mob called in to help Olympic horses train
horses which are set to travel from Yorkshire to London to help police the Olympics underwent some special training yesterday, with help from a specially assembled mob.
Earlier this month, officers from the mounted section of South Yorkshire Police made appealed for people to come forward to help the animals prepare.
Those taking part travelled to the police’s specialist stables at Ring Farm, near Barnsley, yesterday and were encouraged to make lots of noise and act like an angry crowd.
Flags were waved and drums were banged, but the volunteers were encouraged to make friends with the horses and their officers at an event afterwards.
