Replacement plan for flood-wrecked clinic

A NEW health facility is to be built yards from a clinic which was wrecked by the floods of 2007.

A planning application will go in next month for a replacement for the Cottingham Clinic on King Street in the village.

A brick-clad modular building, housing a variety of services including podiatry, diatetics, hearing aid and children and family services, will be created in the car park, which is on higher ground.

A spokeswoman for NHS East Riding said: "We are delighted to be able to bring back services to Cottingham.

"It was clear from meeting people in November that reintroducing services into Cottingham was still a priority for families and Cottingham's older population."

If all goes to plan the new building should be ready in October.
