Seven vehicles have been seized and over 70 people searched.

Inspector Andy Gallant of the Bowling, Barkerend and Bradford Moor Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “A majority of the arrests concerned the supply of class ‘A’ drugs and this has been largely down to the support of the community.

“On the final day of the operation for instance, we undertook a warrant on Quaker Street in Undercliffe where a haul of approximately £20,000 of suspected heroin and crack cocaine was recovered.

“There are certain individuals who may think they are above the law, however; this latest operation should be a stark warning to anyone involved in drugs activity.

“I have simply done what I promised, responding to calls from the community who in turn have shown the confidence to feed us with vital information.

“Hitting criminals head on ensures that people feel safe in the place they live and work.

“My message is a clear message to those that think that it is OK to commit drugs crime. Take the risks and you will pay the consequences

“I will continue to apply the pressure on dealers and will do whatever I can to answer the calls from residents.”

Sergeant Matt Walker added: “The community have responded fantastically and have been providing our officers with significant amounts of information which we have used to make arrests and seizures.

“The subject of drug dealing is one which has been highlighted to the Neighbourhood Policing Team through local meetings and our continued engagement work.

“We have acted upon these concerns, building up trust and a positive dialogue which is ultimately providing results. Although this latest operation has been a success, the work does not stop here and it will remain a continued priority.”
