Retuning alert for Freeview users

FREEVIEW viewers who receive their signal from the Sheffield transmitter will have to retune their digital equipment on Wednesday, March 17, to continue watching BBC services.

The retune is required to prepare local transmitters for the future rollout of free HD (high definition) channels. Those who need help with retuning can call an advice line on 08456 051122 or watch an online video.

Sarah-Jane Gray, retune campaign co-ordinator for Freeview, said: "Most Freeview viewers are used to retuning every now and again, and our campaign will help remind people to get ready for March 17 and offer advice to anyone who needs help on the day."
