According to a survey by Santander in September of last year, one in four parents of school-aged children decided to move house in order to secure a place at a 'good school'. Despite data from the Land registry and the Registers of Scotland, showing that the average premium for a house next to a desirable school is 18 per cent over what you would pay in a less-desirable catchment, this was still dismissed by parents in order to make sure their child received the best possible education.

That’s the equivalent of £32,000 on the average UK house price.
