Rhubarb fudge makes its debut
Fudge maker Rosalind Wrigley has created rhubarb-flavoured fudge after being inspired by Wakefield's annual Festival of Food, Drink and Rhubarb over the weekend.
Ms Wrigley, of Garforth, tracked down a company which provided rhubarb flavouring and unveiled the results at her fudge stall next to Wakefield Market.
She takes her fudge to events across the UK but chose to debut the new flavour in Wakefield. Yorkshire's distinctive forced rhubarb – grown in warmed sheds by candlelight – was given special protected status by the EU last week.
