Police searching for Harrogate missing man Keith Broadbent have retrieved a body from the River Nidd.

Mr Broadbent’s car was discovered in the car park of Conyngham Hall in Knaresborough and yesterday a specialist police underwater search team carried out searches of a nearby river. It was later confirmed a body had been found.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: “Mr Broadbent was reported missing on Tuesday evening and officers carrying out searches of the River Nidd near Conyngham Hall, sadly located the body of a man this afternoon.

“Mr Broadbent’s next of kin have been informed, although formal identification has not yet been carried out. The search for Mr Broadbent has been stood down.”

Mr Broadbent, 61, of Kingsley Road, Harrogate, was last seen on Sunday driving his car, a blue Fiat Punto, along Knaresborough Road, between 5pm and 6pm.
