Road closed after landslip in storms
The A59 will be closed at Kexgill, Blubberhouses, near Harrogate, this week following a landslip last Thursday night during stormy weather in which part of a dry stone wall was pushed onto the road.
Engineers believe the wall fell because of slippage as storms and rain uprooted trees and bracken on the hill behind. Weather permitting, the work should be completed by Friday evening and the road re-opened.
