The A66 has been closed in North Yorkshire following a serious collision between a car and a HGV.
It happened near the Fox Hall Inn at 3.28pm today (Sunday)
North Yorkshire Police have confirmed that a man in the SUV has been seriously injured and is currently being treated by paramedics.
The Highways Agency has closed the A66 in both directions with diversions in place around the scene. It is expected to remain closed for some time while the police investigate and to allow the vehicles to be safely recovered. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and to follow the diversion signs.
In the meantime, any witnesses to the collision are asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for the Major Collision Investigation Team or send information on email to MCIT@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk quoting reference NYP-26112017-0290.
