Road rage passenger damaged car during incident in York

Witnesses are being sought after a road rage incident in York this weekend, which resulted in one car being damaged.

North Yorkshire Police today said it had involved two men in a grey car and a man in a black Honda Civic.

It is believed the passenger from the grey vehicle got out of the car and kicked the Honda, causing front end damage.

A spokesman said: "We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident as it is believed there were other vehicles and pedestrians in the area at the time.

"In particular, we are appealing for information about the grey vehicle, including the registration number and the identity of the passenger in the grey vehicle."

The incident took place on Layerthorpe at around 12.50pm on Saturday.

Afterwards, the grey five-door medium sized car left the scene along Hallfield Road in the direction of James Street.

The passenger involved is described as a white man, with light coloured short hair and a clean shaven, thin face.

He is believed to have been wearing a grey or off-white hoody at the time of the incident.
