Roads to be closed for City Run

People are being reminded of road closures that will be carried out in Bradford this Sunday during the City Run.

More than 1,500 runners will be lining up at the start point near the Alhambra Theatre at 9am before heading through Thornton and Denholme and finishing in Lister Park, where a fun run is also being held.

Andy Ross, Bradford Council’s leisure programmes manager, said: “To make sure runners stay safe we need to close some roads around the route.

“We wrote to residents early last month to let them know which roads would be closed and when.

Roads that will be closed include: Thornton Road, Old Road, North Cliffe Lane, Sapgate Lane, Back Lane, Wilsden Road, Haworth Road, Bingley Road and others.

Last minute entries can be made on Sunday itself by turning up to the starting point close to the Alhambra Theatre in the city centre before 8.30am. A fun run in Lister Park will take place from 9am to 10am with registration opening at 8.15am.

The run’s official charity partner this year is The Jane Tomlinson Appeal. For more information about the event visit www.bradfordcityrun.com
