Robbers drag takeaway driver from car

A TAKEAWAY delivery driver in York was robbed by a gang of men who dragged him from his car.

The victim, a 30-year-old local man, was attacked at about 8.20pm after dropping off an order in Acomb.

He was in his car at the bottom of Lindley Street, at the junction with Hill Street, when a small light-coloured hatchback pulled up and forced him to stop. Four men then leapt out of the car and dragged him from his vehicle, before attacking him and stealing his takings from the night.

“House to house inquiries are continuing in the area, however any information that could help the investigation could be vital.”

One of the suspects is described as being white, aged in his early 20s, about 5ft 5in tall, with a medium build and short dark brown hair.
