ROTHERHAM UNITED boss Steve Evans will today face a Football Association inquiry into his behaviour after former club Crawley Town’s game at Bradford City on March 27.
Evans must answer an allegation that he acted indecently in front of a female member of the club’s staff outside the dressing room area at Valley Parade. He denies the charge.
An investigation was launched after the Bantams made an official complaint to the Football League, who passed on the case to the FA.
The FA formally charged Evans on June 19 under rule E3, which states: Abusive and/or indecent and/or insulting words and/or behaviour towards a participant, which included a reference to gender.
The case was due to be heard in July but got put back because Evans was ill.
The hearing is reportedly taking place in the Midlands today.
Meanwhile, Millers chief Evans has revealed his disappointment after his Rotherham side bowed out of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in a 1-0 loss to York City at the New York Stadium last night - Matty Blair firing a late winner for the Minstermen.
Evans, who lost utility man Mark Bradley to injury in the first-half, said: “It wasn’t good enough was it, but you’ve got to look at the context of the play. We’ve made five changes to save legs, but we’ve dominated the second half.”
Bolton Wanderers’ Croatian striker Ivan Klasnic reportedly turned down to stay in England with Sheffield Wednesday before deciding to sign with Mainz.
Released by the Trotters in the summer, Klasnic - who hit 24 goals in 44 starts in Lancashire - had an open invitation from Owls owner Milan Mandaric to link up with the club.
He was also linked with Deportivo la Coruna on transfer deadline day but decided to move closer to his young daughter in Hamburg by penning a two-year deal with Mainz.
Uncapped Huddersfield Town full-back Paul Dixon could be handed full debut for Scotland in their opening World Cup qualifier against Serbia at Hampden Park on Saturday - with boss Craig Levein pondering the move with his only other left-back, Charlie Mulgrew, returning to Celtic on Tuesday for treatment on an Achilles injury.
