Rugby league stars sing for winning cause

Rugby players have been known to sing on the pitch to celebrate a victory, but the Leeds Rhinos are lending their vocal chords to a good cause.

Keith Senior is pictured in full voice as he and his team-mates record Heather Small’s hit Proud at the New Testament Church in Leeds. The 25-strong squad were joined by 40 gospel singers from the RJC Productions Gospel Choir in Chapeltown, Leeds, yesterday to record a CD under the direction of Le Roy Johnson.

They will release their efforts in aid of the Sick Children’s Trust’s Big Move Appeal, which aims to raise 1.7m to move Eckersley House to the Leeds General Infirmary in May 2010.
