Rugby player backs Jane Tomlinson charity run

MATT Dawson will be in Leeds today to give his backing to the Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10k run.

The former England rugby player will be running the event in the city on Sunday, June 19.

He said: "I'm looking forward to it but I'm not really a runner, I'm more of a cyclist but come on, 10k is not that far and I can't be a wuss about it.

"I've done the marathon and the Bath half marathon and so I've trained for these kinds of runs before."

Mr Dawson, who met Jane, said of her: "To be able to help her charity and family out and help her legacy is a real honour – she touched people all over the nation."

The Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10K was set up to stand as her fundraising legacy and the Yorkshire Post is a media partner in the event. Entry details have been posted online at www.runforall.com.
