Rugby star arrested for taking golf cart after Six Nations win

WELSH rugby star Andy Powell was arrested after driving a golf buggy towards a motorway hours after defeating Scotland in a thrilling Six Nations match on Saturday.

Back row forward Powell, 28, was arrested with another 28-year-old man at a service station near junction 34 of the M4 motorway, close to the spa hotel in the Vale of Glamorgan where his team had been staying.

A South Wales Police spokesman confirmed that "two 28-year-old males were arrested on suspicion of taking and driving away a golf cart" and that one of them had then failed a breathalyser test.

Officers said both men were from the Brecon area.
