Runners need your company as teams urged to join Jane Tomlinson 10k event

COMPANIES are being encouraged to put on their running shoes and take part in this year's Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10k run.

Mrs Tomlinson's widower' Mike Tomlinson, was at the Leeds offices of corporate sponsors Clarion yesterday to launch the 2011 Leeds 10k Corporate Challenge, to encourage companies to take part in the event which will be held in the city on Sunday, June 19.

Since the inaugural Leeds 10K in 2007, the Clarion Corporate Challenge has seen companies support the event year on year.

Mr Tomlinson said: "This is the fifth year of the event and the corporate challenge has grown at a speed we couldn't have imagined in 2007."

One of those companies is Rensburg Sheppards, and workers yesterday went to Clarion's offices to be one of the first teams to sign up to the 2011 event and defend their title as the fastest corporate team.

The corporate package is available for an entry of 500 with companies able to sign up a team of three to 10 people. To enter or to find out more, email [email protected] or phone 0113 812 9100.

The Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10K was set up to stand as her fundraising legacy and the Yorkshire Post is a media partner in the event.
