Rush for St Leger Festival tickets

DESPITE the meeting being three months away, some types of tickets are already almost sold out for this year’s St Leger Festival at Doncaster Racecourse.

The racecourse said yesterday that there had been “unprecedented advance sales” of private hospitality boxes, which are now nearly sold out for all four days of the festival, which runs from Wednesday, September 7 to Saturday, September 10.

The track at Town Moor is also set to increase its capacity for the event, which recorded a best-ever attendance in excess of 60,000 last year. New facilities will include marquees, toilets and bars.

Premier Enclosure tickets have also “virtually sold out” across the four days and only a “limited number” remain for Ladies’ Day on Thursday, September 8.

Mark Spincer, managing director of Doncaster Racecourse, said: “The enthusiasm people are showing for the Ladbrokes St Leger Festival this year is truly phenomenal.

“The racecourse has invested in extensive additional facilities to ensure its guests will be catered for in the best possible style and comfort, with queues for bars, food outlets and toilets kept to an absolute minimum.”
