Sailing club honoured by the Queen

A WEST Yorkshire sailing club has received one of the highest honours from the Queen to voluntary groups.

Otley Sailing Club was presented with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services.

The club, at Weston Water, was chosen for the accolade for its work with the Royal Yachting Association Sailability scheme which helps people with disabilities take to the water. The project allows children and adults with special needs and disabilities to gain confidence by sailing independently in adapted boats.
