He bought it from new eight years ago and says: “I loved the design of the house and the location. It's very peaceful and idyllic. You're away from busy city centre yet it's only a short walk in. I travel to London a lot and I can get the 6.30am train and be in London before 9am.”

He adds: “When I work from home, I have a view of the windmill and seeing its sails turning is a wonderful sight.”

Finlay is selling to buy a country house, near Richmond, but says: “I have loved living here.”

Designed by architect Nick Midgley for developer Michael Hammill, the house has a large, open-plan living space with sitting, dining and kitchen areas. Glazed doors lead to a south-facing balcony overlooking West Bank Park.
