Sam gives museum a clear signal

For seven-year-old Sam Pointon, running a museum is literally child's play. The youngster yesterday visited the National Railway Museum in York, where he has been appointed 'director of fun', responsible for ensuring the attractions are up to scratch.

Sam, from Leicester, has made several visits since his appointment last summer and yesterday he was back to inspect and report on the Museum's Easter holiday activities.

While there, he travelled on the footplate of the class N7 locomotive being used for rides during the holidays.

Sam also saw the new Energy show and a theatre performance in the Great Hall. Picture: Mike Cowling.
