School floods after roof lead stolen

A school in Leeds has flooded after thieves stole thousands of pounds worth of lead from its roof.

It was taken from Burley St Matthias C of E Primary School during the summer holidays and temporary repairs were made.

Heavy rain on Monday broke through the repair and a large part of the school had to be closed yesterday with an inch of water in some classrooms.

The buildings are regarded as unsafe for children to be in.
