School worker admits sex with pupil

Christopher Reen, 32, of Carlton Street, Bridlington, was due to face a retrial at Hull Crown Court but pleaded guilty to six counts of sexual activity with a child under 16.

He will be sentenced at Grimsby Crown Court in March.

He is the fifth member of staff at Headlands School, Bridlington, to have faced criminal proceedings in relation to inappropriate sexual conduct.

During the trial last September the jury heard Reen was told about previous problems when he started work at the school in June 2008 but began the relationship just weeks later after the girl applied to join a martial arts club he ran. The club was not connected to the school.

Reen did not deny having sex with her but claimed she tricked him into believing she was 16.
