Scotch on the rocks: Andy the adventurer has whisky galore named after him
Andy Strangeway, 50, earned the nickname of ‘Island Man’ after he took on the challenge between 2003 and 2007.
In recognition of his achievement, the Fox Fitzgerald Whisky Trading Company has decided to name its new cask range after him, calling it ‘Strangeways’.

Hide AdMr Strangeway said: “I was just surprised and honoured. I don’t know any other product I would rather be associated with than malt whisky.”
On the tubes that the bottles are presented in, the company wrote: “Our inspiration for our collection came from Andy Strangeway the first man to reach and stay on all of Scotland’s 162 remote islands.
“Just like you, he has a taste for adventure.”
The owner of The Fox Fitzgerald Whisky Trading Company, Eammon Jones, commented on Andy’s Facebook page: “Congratulations Andy!

Mr Strangeway, from Full Sutton, near Pocklington, has received two bottles of Strangeways Port Charlotte from the company as a token of appreciation.
The strength is 60.7 per cent and is a limited edition of only 303 bottles.
Mr Strangeway completed his Island Man task on 29th August 2007 when he left Soay, St. Kilda.

Hide AdAmongst other titles, he claims to be the first person to land the four extreme points of Scotland, sleep alone on the six extreme points of Great Britain on six consecutive nights, and sleep on the summits of England’s 39 counties.
