Scunthorpe: Boy, 3, critical after being hit by car

The boy was hit by a silver Ford Focus outside North Lindsey College in Scunthorpe at 4.35pm on Saturday, police said.

He was taken to Scunthorpe General Hospital by ambulance but later transferred to hospital in Sheffield, where his condition is described as critical but stable.

The driver, a man from Scotter, North Lincolnshire, was not hurt.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: “Police working to establish the circumstances of the collision are asking anyone with information not already given to police to contact them on the non emergency number 101 quoting log number 533 of 18 August 2012.”
