Sean Bean arrested for ‘harassing ex-wife’

SHEFFIELD-born actor Sean Bean has been arrested on suspicion of harassing his ex-wife.

The TV hard man, who made his name in the Napoleonic war drama Sharpe, was arrested over allegations that he sent abusive texts and calls to actress Georgina Sutcliffe.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “A 53-year-old man attended a central London police station by appointment today, where he was arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.

“He was arrested on suspicion of harassment.”

Sutcliffe is appearing in the West End production of Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap.

The pair divorced in December 2010 after two years of marriage.

Bean wed his teenage sweetheart, Debra James, at 21.

That was followed by marriages to Bread actress Melanie Hill and Sharpe co-star Abigail Cruttenden.
