Search is on for 10 little people missing from hall art exhibition

A fingertip search is on for 10 tiny people missing from an art exhibition.

The little people – dubbed Day Trippers and each measuring between 3cm and 4cm – were exhibits at the Extraordinary Measures exhibition at Belsay Hall in Northumberland.

Created by London street artist Slinkachu, the plastic and resin miniatures were placed in the gardens around the Belsay estate.

Eagle-eyed visitors could spot the tiny figures doing everyday holiday activities such as enjoying an ice cream, gazing at a sculpture, and resting on a park bench enjoying a packed lunch.

Now all the Day Trippers have gone missing, and it is believed visitors may have picked them up and taken them home as souvenirs.

English Heritage is offering an amnesty to anyone who can explain what has become of the figures.

Belsay Hall visitor operations manager Lynn Rylance said: "Slinkachu's little people proved so popular that the visitors who were lucky enough to spot the original versions took them home with them as a memento.

"English Heritage is now really interested to know where these tiny people now live – perhaps one is sitting in your kitchen – and is holding a no-grudge amnesty to find out where the tiny hand-painted figures have gone to."
