Search on for “little old ladies”

“Little old ladies” with get up and go are being sought to take part in a West End hit.

Hull New Theatre, which is staging the classic black comedy The Ladykillers, next month, is searching for four women to perform as supernumeraries during the four-day run.

They are needed to play “Little old ladies”, will be taking part in a tea party scene with Mrs Wilberforce, performed by Michele Dotrice (Some Mothers Do ‘Ave’ Em).

Though the four will have no dialogue, they will need to follow some direction and character notes - and be able to get on and off stage quickly. Any applicants also need to be aged 55 and over.

Anyone interested needs to come to a coffee morning at 11am next Thursday in the Circle bar at the theatre.

Gernal manager Janice Wincott said: “This is a terrific opportunity for fans of the show to perform in an acclaimed production at the Hull New Theatre alongside an incredibly talented cast, and we’re hoping to see plenty of local ladies putting themselves forward for the roles.”
