Seasonal greetings: Political families find themselves on the cards this Christmas

David and Samantha Cameron have used a picture of themselves with their new baby daughter on the front of their Christmas card this year.

The happy image was taken when the Prime Minister's family returned to Downing Street with Florence Rose Endellion for the first time on September 3.

It was the first to feature the baby together with both beaming parents. Florence was born in Cornwall, where the Camerons were holidaying, on August 24.

The picture was taken by Press Association photographer Stefan Rousseau, photographer of the year at the British Press Awards for the past two years.

Inside the card, a simple message reads: "Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and wife Miriam plumped for a colourful picture drawn by two of their young sons for their family Christmas card.

It shows Mr Clegg - appropriately attired in a Liberal Democrat yellow tie – and his family in the likenesses of gingerbread characters. It is the work of the Cleggs' two elder sons – Antonio, eight, and Alberto, six. Younger brother Miguel will be two in February.

The message reads: "Happy Christmas from the Clegg family".

Labour leader Ed Miliband also showed off his family in his Christmas card, using a photograph of himself, partner Justine Thornton and their two sons. In the image, he cradles Samuel, born last month, while she holds Daniel, who is one-and-a-half.
