Second human foot found on banks of Humber

A HUMAN foot has been discovered on the banks of the Humber - less than a month after one was found washed up on a beach 25 miles away.

Police today said the two discoveries were not connected to one another after confirming the find of the second foot - which was believed to have been wearing a brown leather work boot.

A man discovered the second foot on the south bank of the Humber, near Barton, on Saturday.

This comes after a walker found a foot on a beach in nearby Cleethorpes on August 11. It was thought to have been washed up after being in the water for some time.

No identity has been established for either foot and police officers and forensic experts are working with the coroner to conduct further inquiries.

Investigations are also underway to identify any missing people in the region who the body part may belong to.

Humberside Police spokeswoman Toni Parker said: "Police were contacted by a member of the public at 2.41pm on Saturday who reported they had found what appeared to be a human foot on the Humber Bank between Chowder Ness Foreshore and the Humber Bridge.
