Secrecy lifted over 21st birthday party for One Direction’s Louis

STAFF at a luxury hotel have finally been able to talk about one of their most famous guests after a veil of secrecy around the birthday party of a boyband favourite was finally lifted.

Waiters and waitresses, bar staff and receptionists all agreed not to tell anyone about a private celebration for One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson, which took place at Ye Olde Bell, at Barnby Moor, last Friday.

The extravaganza was arranged by his mother Johanna who said she had a “close relationship” with the family-run venue, which has recently undergone a multi-million pound makeover.

Louis, who is from Bessacarr, Doncaster, attended the function with his model girlfriend Eleanor Calder while bandmates including Harry Styles and Liam Payne were also on the guest list.

Hotel spokesman Sue Wilson said yesterday Ye Olde Bell had “agreed privacy” prior to the event to stop hundreds of fans arriving outside to try and catch a glimpse of the band.

She added: “Louis, Eleanor and members of the band arrived with their security team during the afternoon and chilled out in the hotel.

“There was a small pre-dinner drinks party in Louis’s suite and then over 100 family and close friends arrived to celebrate his 21st in style with a glamorous black tie dinner and dancing until the early hours.

“His mother, Johannah, gave an excellent speech about his childhood and her pride in the dramatic rise to his success today and proposed the toast, Louis then cut the cake made in London by The Cake Store which is also supporting Louis’s favourite charity Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in Rotherham.

“It was months in the planning and a closely guarded secret, and Louis and the band members stayed overnight at the hotel and relaxed until late the next day before dashing back into the limelight.”

One Direction first found success on television talent show the X Factor and have since gone on to international success.

Last month the group chalked up their second UK number one single with Little Things and have clocked up global album sales of more than 12 million.
