Segway riders make stand

A group of supporters of the two-wheeled, self-balancing Segway make their way through London to petition the Government to lift the roads ban on the electric vehicle.

UK and European rules have prevented the now British-owned Segway from being used on pavements or roads. But the Government is now consulting on the whole question of electric personal vehicles. Yesterday's demonstration in Westminster was supported by Liberal Democrat MP Lembit Opik.
