Commuters face disruption today after a major road was closed following a serious collision near York.

Officers from North Yorkshire Police took to Twitter to urge people to find alternative routes to the A59, which has been closed in both directions between Moor Monkton and the York outer ring road.
Motorists have been advised to plan ahead and avoid the stretch of road.
