Service to mark football disaster

A remembrance service will be held next month to mark the 25th anniversary of the Bradford City Football Club fire disaster.

The Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor John Godward will host the event commemorating the 56 people who died on May 11, 1985, when Bradford City played Lincoln City at Valley Parade.

The Archbishop of York Dr John Sentamu will take part in the service, along with the Bishop of Bradford David James, the Lord Mayor's chaplain Canon Ralph Crowe and the chaplain to Bradford City AFC Rev Jimmy Hinton. The service will take place in Centenary Square, Bradford, at 11am on May 11.
