Seven arrested over bus stop horror

Seven people have been arrested following the discovery of two badly injured men who were lying unconscious in a West Yorkshire street.

The pair were found on Sunday morning near a bus stop in Manor Road at Ossett, Wakefield, and were initially in a critical condition in the intensive care unit at Pinderfields Hospital.

Their condition has since improved and they have been able to help police piece together what happened.

Detectives are still trying to find out how they came to be at the bus stop and how they came to be injured and unconscious. It is believed that both men had been assaulted.

Both of them have suffered serious injuries and police are investigating whether they were also drugged. One of the victims may have been burned, it is believed.

Detectives have established their identities. One is believed to be from the Midlands and the other is an English-speaking foreign national. Both the men are white.

One of the victims is 25 and the other is 35.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said that it was thought that the pair had spent Saturday evening in Leeds.
