Sex-charge teacher dies in car crash

A primary school teacher charged with a string of sexual offences against children died in a car crash hours before his trial was due to start.

Robert Stringer, 57, who taught in London, was killed when his car hit a bridge parapet on the westbound A41 near Bourne End in Hertford-shire on Sunday. He was accused of offences over the last 10 years, including rape. An inquest into his death will be held.
