Sex work ban at jobcentres

Jobs in the sex industry which could lead to exploitation will be banned from being advertised in Jobcentres, the Government announced.

Employment Minister Chris Grayling said the ban, which will come in with immediate effect, will cover jobs such as lap dancers and strippers.

He said the move was aimed at protecting jobseekers from feeling they have to consider work they were not comfortable with.

Mr Grayling said: "It's absolutely wrong that the Government advertises jobs that could support the exploitation of people.

"We've taken immediate action today to stop certain adult entertainment vacancies from being advertised through Jobcentre Plus."
