Sextuplet wants famous five sisters to pitch in at market

MARKET trader Jenn Walton is calling on her sisters to help out on her new stall at a Yorkshire market – and there are plenty to call on.

Jenn, 28, is one of the world-famous Walton sextuplets and she is hoping to taste success with her new venture at Kirkgate Market in Leeds selling “bouquets” and other decorative creations made from sweets and chocolates.

She and her five sisters – Hannah, Luci, Ruth, Sarah and Kate – were born to Janet and Graham Walton on November 18, 1983 and made international headlines as the world’s only all-female sextuplets.

Jenn’s mother has already been over from the family home in Wallasey, near Liverpool, to help with the business, Sweet Thing, and she is expecting her sisters to pitch in when they can.

She said market stalls were often family-run and joked: “They will do it for love and out of the kindness of their hearts. It’s useful to have five sisters.”

For 10 years Jenn worked as an entertainer and holiday rep in Majorca, where she met her boyfriend, Matt, who is from Leeds and was also working on the island.

The couple returned to England last year and settled in Leeds.

Jenn, who makes all the eye-catching creations herself, said: “They can take anything from 30 minutes up to two hours depending on the size so that’s my social life gone for a while.”

Michelle Hocken, who runs Hayes Seafoods in the market with her husband, Cliff, said: “This is a great place to start a new business and we wish Jenn success.”
