Shadow on the seafront

Shadow Tourism Minister Tobias Ellwood discusses the problems faced by seaside arcades with Alyson Underwood, right, and her mother, Barbara, owners of Hornsea's Regal Amusements, yesterday when he visited Hornsea to meet amusement arcade owners.

They are calling for investment in facilities to attract more visitors to the seafront. Alyson Underwood said visitors often remarked that the town had gone downhill. She said they were not expecting the multi-millions spent on Bridlington but added: "We'd just like some more things to keep families here and make it a nicer place to live and visit."
