Sheffield Uni academics give you the chance to explore the human body

With titles such as Infectious Pub Quiz and Gluten Attack, one could be forgiven for thinking one Yorkshire university is hosting a horror film symposium.

However, in fact the titles pertain to a festival at the University of Sheffield which aims to educate the city about the human body.

Life: A Festival of Health, From Head to Toe is hosted by world-class scientists from the university and will take place between April 16 and 24, giving members of the public the chance to explore and discover ground-breaking research which is making a difference to people across the globe.

Professor Allan Pacey from the University of Sheffield’s Medical School, who is leading the festival and also hosting a QI-style event entitled Myth Busters of Human Reproduction, said: “We have all kinds of things taking place including lab tours which give you a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what happens in revolutionary medical research, we’ve got film screening and a story telling evening.”

The inaugural Life Festival, which took place two years ago, attracted around 2,300 visitors.
