Sheree Murphy makes a bid for more soap roles

Former Emmerdale star Sheree Murphy has said she is keen to return to soaps if anyone wants to hire her.

The actress, 41, said she would jump at the chance to be in EastEnders or Coronation Street.

She said on ITV's Lorraine: "I love EastEnders, I love Corrie. Gosh yeah, if anyone would like me!"

Murphy played Tricia Dingle in Emmerdale from 1998 to 2004 and played Eva Strong in Hollyoaks from 2010 to 2011.

She also appeared in Neighbours when she was living in Australia with her footballer husband Harry Kewell.

She told stand-in Lorraine host Rochelle Humes: "I love soap life.

"I love everything about being on a soap. You know, you're with the same people all the time and you get to know your character.

"It's just the best job ever."

Sheree is married to former Leeds United star Harry Kewell, whom she met at the Majestyk nightcub in Leeds in 2000. The family were living in his native Australia until 2015, when they returned to England and Kewell joined Watford's coaching staff. He is now head coach of League Two club Crawley Town.
